Old Bar is a coastal town in New South Wales, Australia in the Mid-Coast Council. It lies around 16 kilometres east of Taree on the Mid North Coast and around 315 kilometres north of Sydney.

Old Bar is at the mouth of the Manning River. The vibrant seaside villages of Old Bar and Manning Point provide access to the Manning River and ocean, attracting visitors throughout the year seeking sun, surf and sand.

Old Bar Beach is a well-known surfing beach and is also a fantastic kite boarding spot. Beach fishing is also a favourite pastime for locals and tourists. Old Bar Beach is patrolled during the summer months and has a Surf Life Saving Club overlooking the beach. Lani’s Caravan Park is located beside the beach.

Farquhar Park Camping Ground is also located at Old Bar. A great spot for swimming, fishing,canoeing, wakeboarding and much more. Farquhar park is accessible only at low tide. Farquhar Inlet is also a camping ground which consists of 25 campsites set amongst shady trees with BBQ facilities and toilets available. Access to the park is by 4WD along the Manning Point beach (only on low tide) or by boat. Access via Old Bar is only possible when the
entrance is closed. All vehicles require a beach permit issued from MidCoast Council or one of their agents. This area belongs to State Parks and due to the little tern colony who visit here over the summer months, pets are not allowed.

South of Old Bar on the coast is Saltwater National Park just a short drive away through the tiny village of Wallabi Point. By National Park standards it is small, only 33 hectares, but it has so much to offer the visitor.

The park conserves rare coastal rainforest and wetlands but also boasts two swimming beaches, great surfing, a spectacular headland popular for spotting whales and dolphins and a saltwater lagoon particularly suitable for small children.

There are shady picnic areas with barbeques and amenities while on the western side of the lagoon you can safely explore upstream into the Khappinghat Nature Reserve. The Park is also a place of cultural and spiritual significance to the local Biripi community as featured by interpretative displays in the park.

Manning Point is both a riverside and seaside location and where the sea and the northern arm of the Manning River meet. Relax your days away in this picturesque village by swimming in the river pool or beach, launching your boat for a fish or pack a picnic and take in the views.

Manning Point has long provided a place to get away from it all and throw in a line. A picturesque village located almost at the mouth of the Manning River it sits on a narrow spit between the river and the sea. It is part of a landscape of islands and the many tributaries that form the Manning River delta, the largest in Australia. Today with a population of nearly 300 it offers holiday accommodation, a general store, a bowling club, two caravan parks, a restaurant and of course a bait shop and jetty.
